Complete Dentures
- Complete dentures
- Immediate dentures
Immediate dentures are placed over the gums immediately after the natural teeth are removed
- Overdentures
Sometimes it may not be advisable to save a complete tooth. Keeping the root will give support to the denture and prevent shrinkage of the gum
- Implant overdentures
When no teeth are present and there is difficulty controlling a denture, implants can be used to keep them in place in this case by clipping it to a bar
- Tissue Conditioning
Tissue conditioning to heal bruised gums is achieved with a temporary soft lining material
- Loose Dentures
The fit of loose dentures can sometimes be improved by additions, adjustments and/or by being relined in the surgery
- Pain under Dentures
Pain can often be relieved by adjustments of the fit or the bite. When persistent a tissue conditioner may be used
- Soft linings
When the gums are particularly sensitive or the bite is very hard, a soft rubbery material is used to absorb the pressure
- Instant repairs
Sometimes accidents to dentures require repair by the technician. For the patient's convenience, wherever possible they are carried out in the surgery
- Metal veneers
Especially where there is a strong bite, dentures can be veneered giving a strong metal surface and acrylic fitting surface. This allows further/future adjustments while maintaining the fit
- Fungal infections
Fungal infections (Thrush) can occur under the upper denture and can present with cracks at the corners of the mouth. This requires treatment if the unsightly sores are not to become permanent
